Patrick's Story

Hey all you out there! After Aviation, I attended El Camino JC from '65 thru '68, graduating with an AA. Attended the University of California at Long Beach, graduating with a BA in Liberal Arts and English Literature (dual major), History minor. Then came the MA, English Literature at UCLA, and again CSULB ('83) BS in Manufacturing Engineering. Toured with the Band "Powerhouse" from '68 thru '74, Worked for Northrop Aircraft Company in Hawthorne from '75 thru '80. Owned my own company from '78 thru '81 (pleasure boat refurbishment in LA Harbor). Got stupid, spent all my money, became a bum, made a deal with the devil ('85), got successful once again working for Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo ('86 - '89), Boeing in Seattle ('89 - 00), the Carrier Corporation in Syracuse, New York (00 - 04), and back to Northrop Grumman (F/A-18) in El Segundo (04-05) as a manufacturing consultant. Tricked the devil and cancelled the I.O.U. in '05 and returned to Boeing, Seattle to work the C-40 (737) Aircraft Program managing Military Modifications. This is my first time working for Boeing Military and it's exciting...update, now managing M.E. Flight Test Group out of Seattle Field; present projects now include P-8A/P-8I, 737 Max/737 ECO, and 747/777 derivatives. I am with my 2nd wife, Jacquie, we have two girls, Andrea and Amanda, ages 17 and 15 (Didn't have kids until my 40's) 2nd update...can you believe it, girls are now 24 & 22, married, Andrea to an ex Old Guard Army Sergeant (now at Boeing, too) and Amanda to an Air Force serviceman ((although she is a Marine!)). The "now" picture of me was taken in Budapest, Hungary, in 2002 when I was Program Manager in charge of moving and consolidating Carrier European factory operations. It was a wonderful 24 month assignment that allowed my family and me to really get to know Europe. Because of our relocation from New York back to Seattle, I unfortunately missed out on the July, '05 reunion. This will not happen again! I plan to bring the band with me next time. At almost '60 I am still playing with a band, surfing, skiing and golfing with my daughters, tennis and golf with the wife (and not fighting), and playing hardball baseball in the Puget Sound Senior Baseball League, what a life! Up, down and all-a-round! Oh, by the way, anybody got any spare body parts out there that they're not using? Cheap? Now where's the damn car keys.........and who hid my Robin...Expand for more
Hood outfit? Just delivered a brand spanking new C40-C to the Air Force so our Senators and Congress folks can travel in style (and on the QT) while you and I pick-up the bill! I've added a picture of it! Can you believe my 16 year old sophomore has earned five Varsity letters AND a Scholar/Athlete Patch for a 4.0 G.P.A. already! Good god! Bye the bye, the Letterman's Jacket is no longer 50 bucks. My nineteen year old is now married to an Army Honor Guard (Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) and is living in D.C. I sure miss her! She will be starting University this fall. Where the hell's my bass! I've added a couple of pics of the band as we're getting too old to stand. Come on, drop me a line! Update! The 16 year old (Mandy) is now almost 19 and is a Marine stationed at the Depot in Twenty Nine Palms, CA (we'll be surfing in two weeks) and the 19 year old (Andrea, now 22) and her husband have been re-assigned to Ft. Lewis here in Washington so she's close by once again. Her husband Matt will be deployed to Iraq at the end of July. We all wish him a good tour and a safe return; he's a super guy! I'm now working for the Navy here at Boeing (sure will miss working for the Air Force and the visits to Andrew AFB and the PAG ((Presidential Air Group)) but unfortunately those operations have been re-located to Wichita and we just don't want to relocate at this time, damn, glory is so fleeting). Been awhile since I updated…whew! Life passing at the speed of light. Finally retired (after 5 tries, er contracts with Boeing after official retirement in 2016), Purchased vacation home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. Absolutely beautiful place for golf, tennis, fishing, hunting, etc., building another home just outside Guadalajara, Mexico as daughter Michea married into large Mexican family and we love hanging out and spending winters there. Son-in-law has 1/2 acre next to our homesite and is also building. Area is owned and operated by the University of Guadalajara and is called La Herradura (The Horseshoe) and is a beautiful gated community complete with tennis and equestrian centers, hotel and restaurants, and golf course. Life is good, want ten more very healthy years to enjoy it all… Wishing all of you the very best, live long and prosper! I'll try and get some updated photos in as soon as I can get a little time...please visit my Facebook page too (although I'm pretty slow on that account also).
